Have a 1995 B1750 HST with hydraulic problems miles from experienced Kubota mechanic or dealer. First problem, loader would not move, no power steering, located problem in hydraulic pump - drive gear- and repaired. Loader working now and PS, but implement lift does not work, lever moves backwards and forwards no response. Took cover off control valve to check spool drive lever in case of mechanical problem there, looks OK. We're now operating way beyond our level of competency, will now get a heavy equipment mechanic to look at it, but would like some input from Kubota experts on possible problems and where to look first.

Any noises from the machine when the lever is actuated? Did you notice any engine "lugging", or any other changes when you activate the control lever? Any sqeeling noise from the hydraulic system? How the tractor responds will help in determining what is happening. ....

No noises, no squealing, no change in engine noise, it's as though there's nothing happening at the other end of the control lever. That's why we looked inside the cover of the control valve to see if the lever was still connected to the spool drive lever. Trying to understand the mechanism from the workshop manual, I could be wrong, but it looked to me as though the spool drive lever was just pivotting on the end of the spool, not exerting any force against it. Couldn't see how it was supposed to operate so didn't go any further. Any suggestions welcome. ....

Not sure on your modell, but there is a pin where the hydraulic control lever connects to the valve control arm. If the control arm on the front of the spool is rotating freely from the hydraulic control lever , there is something wrong with the linkage, probably a sheared pin. The control arm should move the spool through the valve body. Take another look at the linkage and see if the control arm is rotating inside the sleeve on the bottom end of the control lever, or if it is loose from the housing.
I'm not sure this is as clear as I would like for it to be, but since there is no noticeable engine lugging or hydraulic system noise, It doesn't seem like you are actuating the control valve. Even when the system works right, there is some noticeable load on the engine. You either have no fluid flow at the valve, which is less likely, or your linkage isn't actuating the valve.
A more remote cause would be that the PB line from your FEL valve isn't functioning. The PB on the FEL completes the hydraulic circuit towards the rear of the tractor, including the 3-pt system. If there isn't flow from the PB, you wouldn't have flow to the 3-pt. This could dead-head the pump causing pump failure.
I would start with a good look at the 3-pt control linkage and make sure that the control valve is operating properly when the lever is shifted. ....

Thanks for your advice. The update, as of yesterday, is that the control valve cover was taken off again to look for a problem in the linkage (I was not there at the time) they couldn't see any sheared pin or other fault so they put it back together again and what do you know it was fixed! None of us know why, but we're not going back inside to find out! Thanks again for taking the time to help out. ....
